Again, Web Monday Zurich!

September 30, 2008

Like every Web Monday a happy crowd of Swiss and German Web entrepreneurs and afficionados met for drinks and exchange.

Wuala was the perfect host, and after attending their launch a few weeks ago, I even managed to find the office at first try! Christian Hirsig presented  Atizo’s open innovation story. Fabienne Steiner gave some views behind WebnWine’s stealth curtain and Dania didn’t miss the chance to call for some combatants to join the Wualas and the Amazees in Berlin for some Swiss made turmoil (berlinweek). We recommend Barcamp Berlin 3, the Facebook Developer Garage, Web 2.0 Expo Europe and LateCrunch.

Don’t miss this offer: The Amazee and the Web Monday Zurich community receives a 35% flat discount across all conference packages! Use this code to get the discount upon registration: webeu08gr51

Yes, and last but least we pissed ourselves laughing when we finished today‘s sessions with 2008’s most legendary pitch: Tonchidot! This video is general education.

Are you part of a project that has the potential to really, really improve the world? If yes, don’t miss to apply for Google’s 10^100 project through which the company is soliciting ideas for projects that have the potential to change the world and help as many people as possible.

Google will select the 100 best ideas submitted to the project and then ask users to vote on which ones to fund. These votes will determine the 20 finalists and a group of judges will then choose the five best ideas from this pool. Google has committed $10 million to fund these ideas.

So, don’t waste a second…

We’re proud to announce our partnership with the consolidator of all social actions – Montreal based "Social Actions".

Socialactions.com mainly provides a search interface of actionable opportunities all over the world by aggregating actions (projects, campaigns, groups…) from 30 (mostly US and Canada based) "social action" platforms. Socialactions.com therewith enables peer-to-peer collaboration beyond the borders of the associated platforms.

What does this mean for your projects on Amazee? The projects that have been featured on the Startpage ("Project of the day") are already part of the Social Actions search spectrum. For all the other ones we’ll develop an RSS feed that allows socialactions to "crawl" them too.

This is one more step to integrating and assimilating Amazee into the intergalactic cloud of social media! More to follow this year…

Everybody’s so excited!

September 18, 2008

It seems like things are taking off this morning. Quite an impressive number of new members of the Amazee family overnight and a bunch of new and exciting projects are testimony to the impact press coverage is having on Amazee. Right now we are looking through who’s writing what and then we send the mob over to those who dare criticize too much. NO! We appreciate any input! Keep it coming (the criticism and the claps on the shoulder)!

I don’t want to be buried on a pet semetary …

The new Amazee is here!

September 17, 2008

Finally, it is done! We very proudly present you a whole new Amazee! It’s been a couple of days of even harder work than usual, but we’re there. But it not only looks all new, there’s also new features galore!

First and foremost are the new sponsoring options. In addition to the sponsoring you already know, sponsors can now support projects on Amazee via our own ad sponsoring system. Here the sponsor buys advertising space next to a project he or she would like to support. The revenue this ad generates is split in half between the project and Amazee. A fair partnership that makes everyone a winner!

Another important new feature is our pro membership. Once you sign up for one of these reasonably priced pro memberships, you can start using a bunch of extra features like running private projects, an advanced search or unlimited file uploads! And because we support your commitment to your goals, 10% of each pro membership fee goes directly into the "Amazee Bucket"! Each year we distribute the money in the bucket among the best projects.

Have a look right now!
